Windsor Symphony on Thursday unveiled a new computer program which will streamline how it sells and distributes tickets and make the box office more customer-friendly.
NYN Designs of Windsor has devised a plan that will alleviate some of the problems WSO has encountered since taking over ticket sales from the Chrysler Theatre box office a year ago.
The new web design will allow patrons to order and manage subscriptions and individual purchases. Eventually, patrons will also be able to print their own tickets at home.
"This is a big step forward for us," said Barbara Kuker, WSO president.
"Many of our subscribers have been asking for this."
The symphony this season opened a fully-functioning box office at its headquarters at 487 Ouellette Ave. In addition, there is a Will-Call desk and satellite box office at Chrysler Theatre at each concert.
A portable box office will allow WSO to sell and print tickets at its Assumption University Chapel and county outreach concerts.
WSO obtained a $178,600 Trillium grant from the province to create the new system and hire a marketing employee for three years.
